The district is the most central and ancient old town of Les Corts, added to Barcelona in 1897. Presents an urban landscape quite heterogeneous, with combination of buildings from the early developments ochocentistas and nuevecentistas, along with other new construction.
The area known as Camp de la Creu - Loreto, in the adjournment of the district, named after the cross End and the convent of the nuns who had French Loreto here. During the decade of the seventies of the nineteenth century opened the main streets and the Plaza del Carme, located in the hub of this popular neighborhood. At the end of the century were installed various industries, such as Castells factory and its workers' colony, currently in the process of remodeling. |
